Lewis A. Riley, obituary
LIBERTY - Lewis A. Riley, 79, of Liberty, passed away peacefully on Sept. 27, 2016, in Belfast. He was born in Monroe, the son of Frank E. and Mildred (Evans) Riley.
Lewis worked for Bayside Enterprises as a foreman on the transfer crew for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Lewis loved the outdoors including hunting and fishing and his favorite place on earth was Games End hunting camp in Monroe, which he and his brother Howard started in 1964. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his companion of 35 years, Shirley Bowden of Liberty; his sister, Eunice Palmer of Belfast; his sons, Edward A. Riley and his wife, Karen, of Vero Beach, Fla., Sonny Ripley and his wife, Debbie, of Monroe, and Alan Clark of Belfast; his daughters, Janet Bickford of Rockland, and Wendy Carter and her husband, James, of Vero Beach, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, Roberta Riley of Belfast, June Riley of Swanville and Marge Riley of Litchfield, Mass.; his grandchildren, Josh Bickford and Gregg Bickford of Rockland, Matthew Carter and Kim Carter of Vero Beach, Fla., and William Ripley of Winterport, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and many dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Lewis was predeceased by his son, Toby; his sisters, Maude Riley, Bernice Demass, Ada Dyer, Edna Kenney and Doris Patterson; and his brothers, Clyde Riley, Fred Riley, Walter Riley and Howard Riley.
All family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of his life on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m. at Games End hunting camp in Monroe.
