ROCKLAND — Members of Adas Yoshuron Synagogue in Rockland and many community volunteers held the 26th Annual Christmas Day Community Dinner. The meal, which featured appetizers (donated by area restaurants), followed by roasted turkey (donated by Mainely Poultry) with all the trimmings, and an array of delicious desserts (also made by area restaurants), took place at St. Peter's Episcopal Church at the corner of White and Limerock streets in Rockland.
Synagogue members continued their tradition of coordinating the Christmas Day Meals on Wheels for Knox and Lincoln counties. The effort was based at the Methodist Home on Summer Street in Rockland. Food preparers were in the kitchen cooking and plating the holiday meals, and drivers delivered the hot meals to people in their homes. The synagogue crew also served Christmas dinner to residents of the home.
