St. Huckleberry appearing on WRFR-LP

Mon, 11/23/2015 - 1:30pm

Local band St. Huckleberry will be live in the studio Tuesday, Nov. 24, from 8 to 9 p.m., on WRFR-LP 93.3FM Rockland, 99.3FM Camden and live streaming at wrfr.org

St. Huckleberry plays two-thirds original music, which they term Celtic-tinged hard folk, and one-third traditional Irish and Acadian fiddle. The band is comprised of Mike “GoatBoy” Gallucci (songwriter, guitars, vox), Laura “FiddleGirl” Gallucci (electric viola, fiddle) who is also principal violist in the Bangor Symphony, Don “NYVice” Johnson (sax, flute, keys, occasionally on drums.)

Core members Mike, Laura and Don performed together on Long Island, N.Y., as St. Huckleberry between 1997 and 2002. After turning down a deal with Geffen Records, Mike and Laura moved to Winterport in 2002, followed by Don's move to Waterford in 2006, completing the reunion under the pines.

Mike and Laura will interview with radio hosts Jo and Cheech, and will play some original songs live in the studio.
