Local teams, individuals compete in Regional Cross Country meet

BELFAST – The North Class B Cross Country Regional Championship meet brought out the best in many local high school athletes as well as athletes from all the schools.
Waterville took first place in girls meet while Caribou captured the boys meet. Waterville’s Nick Dall won the boys race with a time of 16:42.84. Lauren Brown, also of Waterville won the girls race with a time of 19:01.29.
The weather for a cross country meet was near perfect. Cool temperatures, slight breeze and mostly blue skies for most of the day. The course as always was in tip top shape.
There were 12 teams of girls. If a school does not have five runners, it does not qualify for the team championship. However, the top 30 individuals in each class qualify automatically.
