Lincoln County squeaks past Waldo County, forces 9/10 Baseball winner-take-all














WALDOBORO — From the start of the game, Lincoln County took control and plated runs to guide them to a 7-6 victory over Waldo County early Saturday evening at Sukeforth Field in Waldoboro in the championship game of the 2015 District 2 Little League Baseball All-Star tournament.
With the win, Lincoln County forces a winner-take-all championship game to be played Sunday, July 12 at 5:30 p.m. back at Sukeforth Field.
The winner of the Sunday contest will not only win the District Tournament, but also represent the district in the state tournament.
Lincoln County plated two runs in each the first and third innings and three in fifth frame while Waldo County scored a run in the third inning and five in the fourth stanza.
At the plate for Waldo County were Noah Hurd (single), Micah Roberts (run), Draedyn Furrow (two singles, double, two runs), Will Robbins (single, run), Curtis Littlefield (double), Brady Clements (single, run) and Drew Bagley (single, run).
At the plate for Lincoln County were Ben Sawyer (single, run), Micah Tomasello (single, double, two runs), Cody Cleveland (single, run), Miles Wotton (two runs), Nick Prior (single, run), Ivan Coffin (single) and Adian Gallagher (single).
