Three locals selected to MEBCA Underclass game; five to Senior game
PORTLAND — The Maine Baseball Coaches Association has announced the rosters for its Maine vs. New Hampshire All-Star Game, Maine Underclassmen All-Star Game and East vs. West Senior All-Star Games.
The Underclassmen All-Star contest will be held Wednesday, June 24 at the University of Southern Maine and will begin at 1 p.m.
Three players from the Midcoast have been selected to participate in the Gorham event.
Selected to play in the event include outfielder Lucien Gordley-Smith of Belfast Area High School, catcher Kyle Crans of Camden Hills Regional High School and pitcher/infielder Nick Mazurek of Oceanside High School.
The contest between the two New England states will be held Monday, June 22 at Holman Stadium in Nashua, New Hampshire and will begin at noon.
No players from the Midcoast were selected for the contest.
The Association will also hold the Maine Senior All-Star Games on Friday, June 26 at Husson University.
Class A and Class B players will play a 6:30 p.m. and Class C and D players will play at 3:30 p.m. The players will be split into East and West squads, depending on which division a player’s school is a member of during the regular season.
In between the two contests, the Association will hold its Mr. Baseball Award presentation, in memory of Dr. John Winkin.
Representing the Midcoast on the Class A and Class B East roster will be outfielder Zac Roman of Oceanside, second baseman Jimmy Strong of Oceanside, outfielder Drew Stanley of Belfast, pitcher Ryan Allender of Oceanside and outfielder Daulton Wickenden of Camden Hills.
No Midcoast players will be playing the Class C and Class D contest.
