BELFAST — The First Church in Belfast, United Church of Christ has hired John Cameron as director of music.

Cameron recently retired after many years as music director of the Belfast schools.  He and his wife Sandy reside in Belfast where they raised their three children. 

There is a lot of enthusiasm in the church for the possibilities Cameron brings to the job. In addition to providing music for worship and congregational singing, Cameron also directs the adult chancel choir.

There is hope also to develop a Hand Bell Choir and a Children's Choir in the near future, as well as involve area instrumentalists. Those interested in becoming part of the First Church Chancel Choir or any of the other musical opportunities mentioned should call the church office at 338-2282 or email to office@firstchurchinbelfast.org.

The First Church is an Open and Affirming congregation located at 104 Church St. in Belfast with ADA accessible entrances at Spring and Court Streets. Sunday morning worship begins at 10 a.m. with choir practice from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
