Camden-Rockport XCountry loves the mud

ROCKPORT – At Camden Hills the Busline League Cross Country action continued on Thursday despite the rain and mud. The middle school teams competed in the fourth meet of the season, with the Busline Championships set for October 18 at CHRHS.
The girls meet highlighted a dominating showing by the Camden-Rockport team. Showing incredible depth, the girls placed eight runners in the top ten as times were very fast even considering the conditions. Sixth grader Augusta Stockman scorched the course with a time of 14:33 and led throughout the race. She was joined in the top ten by Camden Rockport runners Sarah Spizzuoco, Katie Morse, Emily Kessel, Eve Gutheinz, Alli Wells, Maddie Holt, and Hope Bifulco. Kristina Kelly, top runner for Lincolnville, placed second with a time of 15:00. Searsport's top runner, Paige Ireland, broke up the bottom of the top ten with an 8th place finish. All the girls ran a courageous race as the rain soaked runners and the course.
The boys race was a much tighter contest, with all four teams having runners breaking 16 minutes for the 2.25 mile course.
