Shirley A. Eriksen was granted her angel wings on Aug. 9, 2014. Her final days were spent surrounded by family.

Shirley led a simple life, filled with cherished friends and family. She was the life of the party with an infectious smile, and her wit and humor, usually accentuated with an inappropriate word or two, were never in short supply.

She loved spending days on the motorcycle with her late husband, Don, and nights dancing to the music played by his band.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald J. Eriksen. She is survived by her three daughters, Tawni Quint and her husband, Chris Stevens, Cassi Brooks and her partner, Kim Crabb, and Darci Jackson and her husband, Randy Jackson; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Although her heartfelt thoughts were something rarely spoken, she showed her love in many ways. These thoughts were often expressed in birthday wishes sent to her daughters each year. They will all check their mail with a touch of sadness each time their day approaches.

At her request, no service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to fund a memorial bench that will be placed at Owls Head State Park in remembrance of Shirley Eriksen.
