BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Department reported the following activity Feb. 7-10. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. 

Feb. 6

Preston Cole, 39, of Thorndike, was arrested for failure to appear.

Deputy Daniel Thompson responded to the scene of a two vehicle accident on Route 1A in Stockton Springs where the operator reported being unable to avoid a vehicle that had been parked in the lane of travel. The operator told Deputy Thompson that a stop was attempted. The brakes locked and the vehicle skidded into the back end of anothr vehicle, which fled the scene before authorities arrived. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
