Nonprofit receives check from 5K run/walk 2025 fundraiser
Belfast Area High School Peer Leader LEOs chose the But Still I am One charity for their yearly 5K run/walk fund-raiser. The organization’s mission is to empower young adults aged sixteen to twenty-one experiencing homelessness in Waldo County. They do so with services like the PEX Visa Card Project of prepaid cards for essentials; arranging driving school support and providing for a Youth Outreach Specialist.
From the funds raised from the race as well as contributions from others including the Belfast Lions Club, the LEOs were able to present a check to the charity for $1000.
Winners for the Men’s race were: in 3rd place Jon Hayslip, 2nd place Justin Morace, and in 1st place Tristan Hughes. The winners for the Womans were: in 3rd place Catalina Grant, 2nd place Indiana Grant, and in 1st place Nell Finnigan.
"Thank you to all that supported this event both participants and donors, and thank you to those who volunteered and the Belfast Lions Club Members who attended," said Charles Lagerbom, in a news release.
