Belfast Garden Club annual plant sale, May 24
BELFAST — The Belfast Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 9 a.m. until noon, at the Belfast Boathouse and Steamboat Landing in Belfast. The event open to the public. Rain date is Sunday, May 25.
Since 2007, Belfast Garden Club volunteers and local plant purveyors have provided hundreds of potted perennials, annuals, fruits, vegetables, trees, and shrubs to customers each year. This year, a few plants for sale will be stalwart veterans of the Post Office Square garden, removed to accommodate the new garden going in there. Generous donations from Aubuchon Hardware, Bahner Farm, Barley Joe’s, Bas Rouge Farm & Forge, Bloomin’ Roots Nursery, Fireflower Farm, Hammond Lumber, Hannaford’s, Peacemeal Farm, Plants Unlimited, and Villageside Farm will be sold alongside those donated by Belfast Garden Club members. Many of the plants taken from members’ gardens are unusual varieties not available in most stores.
In addition to plants, the much-loved Gardener-to-Gardener table will feature gently used garden supplies and equipment. For the first time this year, the Articulture table inside the Boathouse will feature paintings, textiles, paper art, pottery, and jewelry handcrafted and donated by Belfast Garden Club members.
All proceeds from the plant sale go to support the Club’s community projects, including the 13 public gardens within the city of Belfast and the community garden at Wales Park, and its educational projects throughout Waldo County.
