Free mindful art class in Rockland
The Knox Clinic, Coastal Recovery Community Center (CRCC), and Barbara Davis, REAT, LCSW, are once again collaborating to bring a free mindful art class to the community. This expressive arts workshop will take place on Monday, June 9, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., at the CRCC, located at 11 White Street in Rockland.
This class is designed to help participants connect with their core to feel calm and content, even in the midst of a chaotic world. Using a combination of mindfulness practices and basic art-making techniques, the class guides people in tapping into their inner creative wisdom to support emotional regulation and clarity. Participants will engage in a brief meditation followed by creative expression through drawing, writing, gentle movement, and more.
No prior experience with art or meditation is needed, and all materials will be provided. The class is appropriate for older teens and adults; children are also welcome to attend with an adult caregiver.
The goal of this session is to support the nervous system through creative, mindful activity—helping participants feel better and respond to life’s challenges with greater calm.
Barbara Davis is a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and artist who has long understood the value of creative practice in healing. Her passion for this work is rooted in personal experience and years of professional expertise.
This event is free and open to the public.
