ROCKLAND — Holiday Open House at Maine Coastal Islands Visitor Center takes place Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 9 Water Street, in Rockland.
Indoors, a peppermint and candy cane hunt is planned.
The Center's Puffin will read Eve Bunting's Night Tree.
The Education Room will be busy with garland making for backyard wildlife, and crafters can make a puffin pin or ornament.
View short films about the work of the Refuge islands and learn about the success of the Maine’s seabird colonies.
Enjoy a tasty treat and cup of hot chocolate.
The Nature Store will be open with nature-themed holiday gifts, and artworks, cards and calendars from the Art Gallery can be purchased.
