Songwriter Justin Gordon to sing at Underground Lounge, Nov. 21
BELFAST — On Thursday, Nov. 21, The Underground Lounge, in Belfast, will welcome singer-songwriter Justin Gordon to the stage for the third show of its season. The night of musical storytelling begins at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.), at 17 Court Street, under the Basil Burwell Community Theatre.
Justin Gordon is a Georgia-born songwriter who cut his teeth playing country blues and ragtime before writing his first few songs about country life and the road, recording his first album in 2002. In the “oughts,” he toured the country with The Avett Brothers, self-recording four more albums. Having settled more firmly in the folk genre, Gordon produced and released his sixth full-length album Backwater in January of 2019.
Over the last five years, Gordon has focused his artistic efforts in analog photography, yet still enjoys chances to share his music. In 2023, he and his family moved to Brooks and fell in love with Maine, where he continues to take photos, play shows and enjoys playing bass in local band Dee Dee Sea with two new friends.
Located in the basement of the Basil Burwell Community Theatre, the Underground Lounge is a purely volunteer-led group.
$10 (cash only) at the door gets you in, and $20 is considered a generous donation toward maintaining the series into the future. All of the proceeds, after rent and expenses, go to the performers.
