(Sept. 10.2024) – The Craft Stash Sale scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28 has been postponed until the winter, probably February/March, due to low donations, according to Carver Memorial Library, in a news release.

SEARSPORT — Carver Memorial Library will host its fourth Craft Stash Sale on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, at Mermaid Plaza (1 E. Main Street). The event, which is a fundraiser for the library’s outreach programs, offers local crafters and textile artists high quality craft supplies at bargain prices.

“It’s exciting to find new homes for these crafting supplies,” says library director Sue McClintock, in a news release. “We have been lucky to receive generous donations from crafters in our community and have a great stash again this fall.”

In addition to being a fundraising event, the stash sale is a celebration of community and is made possible thanks to an enthusiastic crew of volunteers and the Makers Guild of Maine and Searsport Shores Ocean Campground, who sponsor the event by providing the venue.

“Whether you’re looking for fabric and yarn, notions and tools for quilting, knitting, sewing, and crocheting, you will find yourself amongst fellow fiber art enthusiasts,” said McClintock. “It’s a really fun day.”

Crafters interested in clearing out their stash ahead of winter are encouraged to donate unused materials and extra tools to the sale. Donations of usable materials may be dropped off at the library from now until September 14, 2024.
