Two municipalities quick to respond to Route 90 vehicle crash
ROCKLAND — An initial report of a multi-vehicle crash with the possibility of multiple injuries on a particular section of Route 90 drew a large emergency response Monday afternoon, Feb. 12, 2024.
The particular section of road is known as Farwell Drive, and is under the domain of the City of Rockland. However, to access any portion of that area following the 4:30 p.m. 911 dispatch, Rockland fire, ambulance and police needed to drive through Rockport. And, with Rockport Fire and Police seemingly closer, those two agencies arrived first scene to the crash site in front of 17 Farwell Drive. Close behind them were two ambulances operated by North East Mobile Health. Rockland units arrived soon after.
In the end, the three occupants of the vehicles – a pickup truck and a Subaru – declined medical attention.
The Subaru was pulling out of 17 Farwell Drive while a pickup truck was heading southbound along Route 90. After the collision, the truck was forced off the road where it continued to travel through a ditch, over a driveway and into some trees on the other side.
