Rockport to hear infrastructure recommendations for Village, Route 90
ROCKPORT – In 2022, the Town of Rockport created a Village Improvement Planning Task Force to create a plan for the Village, assist the Maine Dept. of Transportation as the Bridge Advisory Committee (concerning the repair/replacement of the Goose River Bridge), and pursue federal, state and private grants for financial help.
On Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 6 p.m., consultants who were subsequently hired to help the town with those goals will present their Traffic Infrastructure Study.
Since 2022, the task force and the town have been implementing a DOT grant that was matched by Rockport to hire the Bangor-based Sewall engineering firm. Sewall was contracted to help produce a tool for the town to leverage for more grant funds to pay for the construction recommended through the study.
The public meeting will take place at the Rockport Public Library, downstairs, and will be streamed live.
