LINCOLNVILLE — Author Caer Hallundbaek of Lincolnville has received a 2021 First Place, Non-Fiction award from Top Shelf Literary Magazine for her book Dear Little One: Thoughts to My Child in an Uncertain World.

Top Shelf announced their selections of best works of fiction and non-fiction in September. Dear Little One is a full-color gift book of topical reflections, and a heartfelt spiritual compass meant to support readers through the changing phases of life. Topics include friendship, health, hope, relationships, loss, inner peace, aging, honor and many more.

“I wanted my children to have mom’s thoughts at hand at any time — including long after I’m gone,” says Hallundbaek, in a news release. “In the end I was writing to us all, grown up and small.”

Dear Little One began as a pregnancy journal she kept while commuting on the Hudson Line train in New York and later developed in Maine, as her children grew. The preface was written by the late Maine author Marilis Hornidge.

Hallundbaek was first published at age 17 and is a member of the Authors Guild. Her other books include Inspired Relationships: 7 Saints Real-Life Lessons on How to Live, Love and Work.

Dear Little One is available at Amazon.
