Roy Thomas Jacobs, obituary
VERO BEACH, Florida — Roy Thomas Jacobs, or as family and friends called him, Tom, passed away in Vero Beach, Florida on December 19, 2021 from complications of Alzheimers Disease.
Tom was born May 5, 1950 in Rockland to Ray Arnold and Ruth Nichols Jacobs. As a young many Rom attended Governor Dummer Academy Prep School in Massachusetts and later the American University in Washington, DC.
For many years he lived in Osterville, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. Moving back to Maine to care for her mother, Tom resided in Rockland for many years.
He was a long time Member of the Rockland Golf Club and had a passion for playing golf. Not only was Tom a good golfer but he was also a great person. He cherished a daily 18 hole round with all his friends. Tom was part of the Rockland Golf Club family. Tom won multiple tournaments at the Rockland Golf Club and State wide and even claimed several holes in one.
He was well known for never losing a golf ball as he always he hit it right down the middle every time. A life well lived; he will now join many of his friends for another 18 hole round in heaven. RIP Tom Jacobs you will
be missed!
Tom is survived by his golf family, as well as several local cousins, including Marie Powers of Hope.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 2 p.m., at Oak Hill Cemetery, in Camden.
