BURNHAM and UNION — There will be two COVID-19 vaccination clinics in the Midcoast this week, one in Waldo County and one in Knox County. 

Appointments are not required at either location. 

Waldo County

The Town of Burnham is sponsoring a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic Monday, Aug. 23 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Burnham Town Office located at 247 S. Horseback Road.

Pfizer shots will be available to persons 12 years of age and older, and Janssen shots – the “one and done” – to those 18 years and older. (Parental consent will be required for persons 12-17 years old.)

The clinic is being supported by the Maine CDC Division of Public Health Nursing and the Waldo County Emergency Management Agency.

Knox County

A COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be held in the restaurant building (near the racetrack) at the Union Fair, 110 Fairgrounds Lane in Union, on Thursday, Aug. 26 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Everyone 12 years of age and older can get Pfizer shots, and adults 18 yrs. and older can get Johnson & Johnson. (Please note that children under 18 must have a parent or guardian present to receive a vaccine.)

The clinic is free, and no appointment is needed.

And, for those who get a shot, the Union Fair will give them a free pass to the Fair, good for one admission on Aug. 27 or Aug. 28. 

The clinic is being brought by the Union Fair, the Union Ambulance Service, Knox County Emergency Management Agency and the Maine CDC Division of Public Health Nursing.
