We are greatly saddened to announce the death of Ronald A. McIntyre, also known as Dad, Ron, Ronnie, Gramps and Papa Mac.

Ronald McIntyre was born on November 23, 1934 in Bangor, Maine, to Margaret McIntyre.

Ron went on to live his whole life in Lincolnville, graduating from Camden High School in 1953. In Ron’s younger years, he was well-known for his love of baseball and threw a wicked curve ball. Later on in life, when playing ball was no longer possible, he enjoyed watching the Braves and the Red Sox.

During Ron’s years in Lincolnville he was an involved member of the community, serving as a member of the Lincolnville Volunteer Fire Department and instrumental in the fundraising efforts and construction of the Lincolnville Community Building. Ron became a well-known builder in the Midcoast area building everything from chicken barns, to homes, to completing small home improvement projects. Ron also served on the board of directors for the Lincolnville Telephone Company, serving as the treasurer for many years. In addition, Ron was a long-standing member of the King David’s Masonic Lodge.

For those of us who knew Ron, we will cherish the many memories of him doing those things he truly loved like mastering a crossword puzzle, going up to camp at Grand Falls, hunting, fishing and dancing, but not necessarily in that order. He also had many memorable weekends at Whetstone Falls with his partner-in-crime, Harriet, and his good friends Millard and Ann Eugley.

Ron was predeceased by his mother, Margaret; his long-time partner, Harriet Mahoney; his step-children, Juli Woodbury and Dwight Mahoney; and his first wife, Jessie Josselyn Jacobs.

Ron is survived by his children, Scott McIntyre and wife Susan, Debra McIntyre and husband Paul Leeper, Ed Mahoney and wife Cami, and Lottie Wallace.

Ron is also survived by his grandchildren, Zac McIntyre and wife Nikki, Stephanie Tuttle and husband Tracy, Jason Mahoney and wife Jodie, Ryan Mahoney and wife Jacki, Aaron Mahoney, Brittany Mahoney, Phil Wallace and wife Vilma, Chris Wallace and wife Kat, and Kelly Outlaw and husband Ryan. There are numerous great-grandchildren.

Ron is also survived by a special friend, Shirley Brill; and his dog, Tobey.

A graveside service will be held in the late spring or early summer in hopes we may gather together to celebrate a life well lived.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the King David’s Lodge PO Box 431 Lincolnville, ME 04849
