CAMDEN — June is the time to get outside and enjoy yoga and tai chi classes in the Camden Amphitheatre With classes held several times a week, there are many opportunities to get started with a new wellness routine.

On Tuesdays and Fridays in June, from 9 to 10 a.m., certified yoga teacher Denyse Robinson will guide participants through a sequence of yoga poses that are both grounding and uplifting. All levels are welcome. Robinson will also be offering a special Saturday yoga class on June 19, from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. For more information, contact Denyse Robinson at 207-975-5325 or denyserobinson@gmail.com.

On Mondays and Wednesdays in June, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Anna Dembska, a certified teacher of Yang Family tai chi, will be offering beginner tai chi classes in the Amphitheatre. The classes are beneficial for people of all levels of fitness — developing awareness, relaxation, energy, flexibility, strength, balance, and pleasure in the open air, according to the Camden Public Library, in a news release. For more information, contact Anna Dembska at camdentaiji@gmail.com.

Pre-registration is recommended for both classes so that participants can be reached if classes are canceled or moved to a different location on the library’s grounds.

The yoga and tai chi classes are free, but donations are accepted. A portion of the donations collected will benefit the Camden Public Library.

Announcements will be made soon regarding the additions of other programs like “sound bathing with gongs” and “yoga nidra.” For more details about these and other Camden Public Library Programs, visit librarycamden.org.

Editor’s note: This press release is an update from the original, which listed the yoga schedule as Tuesdays and Thursdays. The schedule should be Tuesdays and Fridays.
