ROCKLAND — Wilma Arlene Copeland, 78, passed away peacefully at the Sussman House in Rockport on Saturday, December 14, 2019 with family by her side.

Born in Belfast on July 5, 1941 to Edgar and Thelma (Jordan) Curit. She was educated in local schools before marrying and raising her family. A homemaker most of her life, Wilma also worked for about 10 years at the Holmes Packing Company in Rockland processing sardines.

Wilma was known by many to have a big heart and displayed no hatred toward anyone regardless of their station in life. She would often open her home, taking in anyone her children brought home and treating them as
one of her own.

She especially loved all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren without fail and was deeply devoted to them.

Active with her church, Wilma attended services every week even after she lost one of her legs. She cherished the love and support she received from her church family and in turn loved them just as much, if not more.

There was a special place in Wilma’s heart for the garden that she and her late daughter, Charlene, created. She tended and cared for that garden with the utmost love and compassion as it held so much meaning to her.

Predeceased by her parents, her daughter Charlene, a sister, Beverly Kalloch, and a grandson, Steven Davis Jr,; she is survived by her children, Steven Davis Sr. and his wife Betty of Rockland, Craig Davis and his partner
Marcia Kenney of Rockland, Robert Sukeforth of Seattle Washington; a son in-law, Scott Wilson of St. George, and Wayne Alden, who she considered as a son, and his partner Lillian Major of Cushing; her grandchildren,
Jessica Wagner, Christopher Burns, Todd Preston, Travis Wilson, Megan Wilson, and Sabrina Sukeforth, and great grandchildren, Casey Powers, Anna Wagner, Jenna Davis, Lily Bissett, Paisley Black, and one “on the
way.”

A memorial service for Wilma will be announced on a later date.
