Whimsical version of Met Opera’s The Magic Flute at Strand Theatre, Dec. 24
ROCKLAND — A special holiday encore presentation from New York’s Metropolitan Opera of an abridged version of The Magic Flute will be screened at the Strand Theatre on Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 1 p.m.
Julie Taymor’s whimsical, English-language version of Mozart’s The Magic Flute was presented live in 2006. The opera features a winning ensemble, including tenor Matthew Polenzani, baritone Nathan Gunn, and bass René Pape. It has a running time of 1 hour, 50 minutes. The Magic Flute returns to select movie theaters for a special encore presentation during the holiday season.
