SEARSPORT — Wednesday at the Shores is celebrating its 30th Season of Front Porch Jams. The summertime event, open to the public at no cost, occurs Wednesday nights, June 12 to September 18, 2024, from 5-7 p.m., at Searsport Shores Ocean Campground, Rt. 1, in Searsport.

“All are welcomed to bring an instrument, a song and a smile,” said Steven Tanguay, in a news release.
 
Musicians, cooks, makers and admirers gather under the stars or in the garden kitchen; join them for an old-fashioned picking party and sing-a-long. Bring your instrument and take part in a guided jam session.

This is a community celebration so please pack a picnic and invite friends and family along. Participate in a craft project while you are here. Are you a maker or grower? Bring your artisanal products and sell them from a table nestled into the garden (your vending space is free BUT samples and demonstrations are strongly encouraged).

The group will play all genres of music although they lean towards Old-Time, Bluegrass, and Americana favorites. Players of all skill levels and ages are encouraged to attend. Music sheets are provided when helpful....check out the Searsport Shores Jam Book to get an overview of the kind of tunes that may be played at the Jam. Or just try out a few of the tunes at your campfire and then come on over to the jam session.

Anytime the weather is nice, the musicians will be on the bandstand and the audience on the grass. There are picnic benches for seating but plenty of room if you'd like to bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket.

The public is welcome to pack a picnic and relax into an evening of old-time community fun. Most evenings a food truck is available.

If the weather is questionable, the group will settle into the garden kitchen and covered porch for the evening. The facility is completely handicapped accessible.

No cost, everyone is welcome.
