Waldoboro Police beat: Stolen motorcycle, accidents, arrest warrants

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 519 calls for service from Dec. 23-Jan. 10. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

    Dec. 23                                               

    Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 2:14 p.m. Maisie Newell, 35, of Damariscotta, backed into Caitlin Ernst, 27, of Nobleboro, while at the Irving gas pumps.

    Dec. 24                                               

    Kevin Libby, II, 31, of Thomaston, was issued a summons by Officer Nathaniel Jack for uninspected motor vehicle and failure to show proof of insurance.

    Jill Lee, 35, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer Chase Bosse for operating under the influence.

    Dec. 26                                               

    Corey Main, 44, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Jack on a warrant.                   

    Farrah Boody, 34, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Dwight Jones for uninspected motor vehicle

    Angela Webster, 44, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Jones for uninspected motor vehicle. Robyn Hyler, 43, of Cushing, was issued a summons by Jones for uninspected motor vehicle.

    Dec. 27                                               

    Jones investigated an accident on Lady Slipper Lane at 11:00 a.m. Wyatt Fillmore, 19, of Friendship, was traveling northbound, following the roadway. Fillmore lost control and went into a ditch, coming to rest nose down and partially on the side of his vehicle.

    Jones is investigating a report from a citizen about criminal mischief to her residence.

    Jones is investigating a report from a citizen about a subject refusing to pay for $20 worth of gas after pumping it.

    Jones investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 5:20 p.m. Dennis Sproul, 47, of Damariscotta, was traveling southbound on the Atlantic Highway, following the roadway and collided with the merge sign in the median.

    Dec. 28                                               

    Jordan Talbot, 22, of Portland, was arrested by Jack for operating under the influence.

    Craig Curtis, 45, of Wiscasset, was issued a summons by Jones for uninspected motor vehicle.

    Dec. 29                                               

    Joseph Blackler, 31, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Office Jeffery Fuller on a warrant.

    Dec. 30                                               

    Anthony McCullagh, 26, of Damariscotta, was issued a summons by Fuller for operating after suspension, and violation of conditional release.

    Dec. 31                                               

    Jack investigated an accident on the Bremen Road at 8:00 a.m. Todd Dodge, 46, of Waldoboro, was traveling northbound on Bremen Road, following the roadway and ran off the roadway striking a utility pole.

    Dec. 31     

    Todd Dodge, 46, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Jack on a warrant.

    Jan. 1                                                 

    Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on the Friendship Road at 4:41 p.m. Kathleen Carr, 61, of Friendship, was traveling northbound on the Friendship Road. A deer crossed the road in front of Carr’s vehicle and she struck the deer.

    Glenn Lewis, 63, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Bartunek for uninspected motor vehicle, failure to display back registration plate and defective motor vehicle.

    Jan. 2                                                 

    Sgt. Jamie Wilson investigated an accident in the Moody’s parking lot at 4:17 p.m. Nicolas Maragoudakis, 65, of Nobleboro, backed from a parking spot and struck a parked vehicle belonging David Teele, 74, of Bremen.

    Jan. 5                                                 

    Fuller investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway, at 9:32 a.m. Scott Bickford, 50, of Rockport, was traveling southbound, fell asleep and went off the road, waking up after the crash.

    David Sanborn, 24, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Jones for speeding.

    Fuller investigated an accident at the Atlantic Highway/Jefferson Street/Depot Street intersection, at 11:53 a.m. Jeffrey Parent, 65, of Waldoboro, stopped and entered the intersection, striking Teresa Bailey, 61, of Waldoboro, who was traveling southbound on the Atlantic Highway. 

    Jan. 6          

    Sean Williams, 41, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Fuller for violation of a protective order.

    Jan. 7          

    Rose Ayers, 30, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Bartunek for theft by unauthorized taking.

    Shawn Sabins, 37, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Bartunek for theft by unauthorized taking, violation of conditional release and a warrant.

    Jan. 9          

    Jones is investigating a report from a citizen about the theft of a motorcycle and boat.
