WALDOBORO — Ted Mohlie, of Waldoboro, submitted a carving of a loon for Waldoboro Public Library’s online art auction. It is one of the more than 70 original works that will go up for bid beginning this Friday, September 25, and ending on October 8 on BiddingOwl.com.

This fundraiser for the Waldoboro Public Library showcases a broad range of art and crafts. All of the art is now on display at the library for preview — everything from works on canvas and paper, to sculpture, stained glass, wood turning and carving, and fiber arts.

You can go to the “Great Art for Great Reads” page on Facebook for a look at some of pieces going up for bid. The works will remain on display through October 8 at the Waldoboro Public Library, at 958 Main Street, in downtown Waldoboro.

Library hours are Monday and Thursday, noon to 7 p.m.; Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
