BELFAST — The man accused of causing the death of his one-time friend in Lincolnville, Jan. 5, was indicted by a Waldo County grand jury March 22.

Matthew Pendleton, 48, was indicted for alleged intentional or knowing or depraved indifference murder as a result of the death of Kevin Curit, 47.

Pendleton, who is reportedly unemployed due to a work injury, has been assigned Attorney Christopher K. MacLean as his defender.

Pendleton has made no admission regarding the death of Curit, and has denied engaging in the conduct he is accused of, according to court documents filed by Attorney MacLean March 13.

Pendleton is next scheduled to appear in Waldo County Unified Court April 3, though he will reportedly attend via Zoom.

According to a notice of arraignment, Pendleton will be arraigned at 11:30 a.m.
