Violet M. Hanson, obituary
BROOKS — Violet M. Hanson, 82, of Brooks, passed away at home on April 21, 2019. Violet was born in Belfast on May 13, 1936, to the late Leland and Lillian Furbush.
Violet was a lifetime member of Brooks Bible Church. She was a former CNA with home care in Waldo County and a long-time host of Cowan Cove Campground.
Violet was predeceased by her daughter Dolores Robbins; and by her two brothers, George Furbush and Leland Furbush.
Surviving are her sons, Melvin L. Ryder and his wife Irene of Belfast, Ted Ryder and his wife Darlene of Stockton Springs, John Ryder and his wife Vickie of Florida, George Ryder and his wife Regina of Brooks and Randy Hanson and his wife Meg of Jackson; her daughter Inez Smith and her husband of Brooks; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; her brothers Norman Furbush of Belfast and Edwin D. Furbush and his wife Caro of Northport; her sister Lily Clark of New York; sister-in-law Marie Furbush; brothers-in-law Hilton Hanson of Albion and Victor Hanson of Augusta; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of loving friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 11, at 2 p.m., at Brooks Bible Church.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Maine Health for the wonderful care they provided to Violet.
