    BELFAST — The woman who was injured in an Aug. 12 hit and run has been released from the hospital following treatment of her injuries.

    The search for the driver, operating what is thought to be a 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, continues. The vehicle sustained damage during the collision and will likely be missing a front passenger window and sideview mirror.


    BELFAST — Belfast Police are seeking public assistance in identifying a vehicle that was involved in a hit and run Friday, Aug. 12. The collision resulted in personal injury. 

    Belfast Police  responded to the report of a personal injury accident in the area of 238 Belmont Ave, around 8:51 p.m, according to a press prelease.

    The complainant, who lives in the area, reported hearing what sounded like an accident; the caller located a woman laying in a ditch on the side of the road with injuries to her head. 

    According to the release, initial investigation appears to suggest that the victim was on a bicycle and traveling westbound on Belmont Ave, riding on the eastbound shoulder when she was struck. The vehicle she was struck by fled the scene traveling east on Belmont Ave, leaving the cyclist injured in the ditch.

    The victim, identified by police as Tristan Fontenelle, 30, was taken to Waldo County General Hospital where she was treated for her injuries. She has since been released and is recovering at home.

    Belfast Police reportedly have some information to suggest the vehicle involved may be a 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, which will be missing the passenger side mirror and passenger side front window.
