Two adults who died in Freedom carbon monoxide poisoning identified
The two adults who perished Oct. 22 in a carbon monoxide leak at a Freedom home have been identified by the Waldo County Sheriff's Office.
Cansheng Zhao, 31, and Bolin Zhao, both of Brooklyn, New York, perished in the incident, which Lieutenent Cody Laite said was not the result of any criminal activities.
"Members of the Sheriff's Office have worked with several other agencies throughout the investigation, which has revealed no criminal contact," he wrote in his Nov. 7 response.
The tragedy occurred at a home in Freedom, resulting in both Zhaos being transported to Waldo County General Hospital, where they ultimately succombed to their injuries.
