UPDATE: Equipment failure attributed to Knox County power outage

Power was restored in Rockland as of 11:02 a.m.
The cause was the result of equipment failure.
“Our crews have rerouted power to more than half of our affected customers, and the remainder will be restored shortly,” said Jonathan Breed, with CMP, at 10:45 a.m.
Central Maine Power is tracing the source of the outage in Knox County that happened just before 10 a.m. CMP will update the public when it has more information, the company said. As of 10:40 a.m. 15,904 customers were without power.
MP provides electricity service to 26,552 customers in Knox County.
