Tree on wire cause of Dec. 16 Camden, Rockport power outage

CAMDEN-ROCKPORT — A tree that was likely damaged in last week's rainstorm fell on a transmission line that feeds much of Camden and Rockport, causing a power outage.
A crew is cutting the tree off the wire now, said Central Maine Power spokesperson Jonathan Breed.
The transmission line feeds the 5,991 customers whose power was cut, said Breed, which is why the outage is widespread in the immediate downtown Camden area, and in parts of Rockport, Hope and Lincolnville.
Restoration of power is anticipated soon, said Breed.
