Transition to Parenthood Peer Group being offered for new, expectant parents
BELFAST — MaineHealth Obstetrics and Gynecology Belfast offers a new Transition to Parenthood Peer Group for new and expectant parents. The group will meet from 10:30 a.m. to noon on the first Wednesday of each month, beginning Wednesday, Aug. 6., inside the practice at 16 Fahy Street, Suite 108, Belfast.
The group provides a welcoming space for new and expectant parents to find support from others as they navigate the transition to parenthood. Babies are welcome, and snacks and beverages will be provided. Drop-ins are welcome. For more information or to register, call 207-505-4332.
The new peer group is just one of many services offered to new and expectant parents at MaineHealth Waldo Hospital, which began partnering with MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital to provide labor and delivery services after the closure of the MHWH’s labor and delivery unit in April. MHWH continues to provide expert obstetrical and gynecological services, including comprehensive pre- and postnatal care, at its Obstetrics and Gynecology Belfast practice.
“MaineHealth Waldo Hospital remains deeply committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive pre- and postnatal care,” said Angela Emerson, practice operations manager at MaineHealth Obstetrics and Gynecology Belfast. “We continue to support families through every step of their journey, before and after delivery. Our group is more than just a team of healthcare providers—we are partners, a trusted resource and a community for parents navigating the joys and challenges of their growing families.”
A Transition to Parenthood Peer Group is also offered at MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital. This group will meet from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month, beginning Monday, Aug. 11, inside the practice at 3 Glen Cove Drive, Suite 1, Rockport. For more information or to register, call 207-301-8343.
