Trail Fest: In the winners’ circle

CAMDEN — 34 degrees at 7 a.m., a cold wind, and a slight morning delay easily changed into clear blue skies and sunny dispositions for the participants of the Camden Snow Bowl Trail Fest.

Saturday, Oct. 5, hundreds of runners and mountain bikers inched their chins a bit more skyward to see the rising trail (or pushed their chins downward to avoid the intimidation) as they stepped, pedaled, or both, through the pine needles of autumn.

The fourth annual event, sponsored by Baxter Brewing Company’s Outdoors series, carried through with few hiccups, aside from one flat tire, one woman who started off running and returned long overdue (she chose to walk with a group she’d met along the way), and finishers crossing the line from two different directions simultaneously.

The following pictures show the age group and overall winners of the running events as the winners receive their award: Beer cans from race sponsor Baxter Brewing Company.
