ROCKLAND — RSU 13 Adult Education announces the recent graduation of three students from the College Next program. These students successfully completed their preparation for college and are enrolled in classes at UMA Rockland Center beginning in January.

In addition to refreshing math skills, these students earned three college credits for the COL 100 - Intro to College Experience section of the course.

This course is designed for students entering college and as one graduate observed, in a news release, “This class was the perfect step towards understanding how college works.”

College Next is held on campus at URock, offering a lively student environment, as well as a modern computer lab and college experience, according to the release.

During the thirteen-week program, students complete important college activities; applying for financial aid, filling out paperwork for scholarships, refreshing study skills, exploring possible careers, and learning computer skills needed for college.

Registration is now open for the Spring 2019 College Next program which begins February 6. The course is open to adult learners with a high school credential and a desire to enter college.

This program is supported by a generous grant from the Maine Department of Education, and instruction is offered free of cost.
