AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has scrapped plans for a full detailed release of COVID-19 data for Oct. 2 due to technical issues. 

“Ongoing technical problems will prevent Maine CDC from updating case information today, October 2, 2020,” the Maine CDC posted to its website around 3:15 p.m.

The organization did release limited data for Oct. 2, however: 

• An increase of 37 new cases to bring the total to 5,468; including 4,900 confirmed (an increase of 35) and 568 probable (an increase of 2). 

• No new deaths 

• 36 new recoveries to bring the total to 4,740

• The number of people hospitalized, at some point during their illness, across the state stands at 452. 

• There are currently 11 hospitalized, including two in critical care and one on a ventilator.

• Statewide, there are 104 available critical care beds out of 381 total, 242 available ventilators of 318 total, and 444 alternative ventilators. 

• There have been 459,167 COVID-19 tests performed statewide including 7,294 positive results and 451,561 negative results. Furthermore, there have been 312 intermediate results, which means the test did not provide a clear negative or positive result.
