Stephanie Roper becomes Senior Director of Electric Operations for Central Maine Power

At the beginning of March, Kerri Therriault, who has held various leadership roles at Central Maine Power, most recently as Senior Director of Electric Operations, retired from her position after spearheading teams at CMP since fall 2001.

Replacing her in the role of Senior Director of Electric Operations, the second-highest leadership position in CMP’s Operations division, is Stephanie Roper, who previously served as Manager of Regional Operations in CMP’s Augusta/Fairfield service district.

Roper is a military veteran and, like Therriault, has decades of experience in the electric utility industry, joining CMP and Avangrid in 2022 from a prior role in New York City at another large utility company. She will report to CMP Vice President of Electric Operations, Adam Desrosiers.

“We are fortunate to have someone with Stephanie’s experience on our team and have a fantastic leader just like Kerri succeed her in this critical role at our company,” said Joe Purington, President and CEO of Central Maine Power, in a news release. “Maine families across our service territory will benefit from Stephanie’s frontline knowledge of our grid and how to harden it to withstand stronger and more frequent storms.”

“Stephanie led our Augusta and Fairfield teams through the largest restoration effort that district ever experienced during the storm that struck just before Christmas last year,” said Adam Desrosiers, Vice President of Electric Operations for Central Maine Power. “Her tireless effort, spending time around the clock directing crews, is a significant part of why we were able to have everyone’s power back on before December 25, despite thousands of trees down in individual towns in Kennebec County.”

The Senior Director of Electric Operations manages approximately 400 CMP employees including those who support the company’s distribution system, such as lineworkers.
