As stand-alone COVID clinics wind down, PBMC, WCGH bring vaccination effort in-house

MaineHealth is preparing to close its COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Belfast and Rockland and has begun directing patients who still need to be vaccinated to Pen Bay Medical Center (PBMC) and Waldo County General Hospital (WCGH).

If you have already made an appointment at either the Belfast or Rockland clinics, then you are all set. Please show up at your appointed time. Vaccinators will be expecting you and will be ready to administer your vaccine, according to the hospitals, in a news release.

If you have not made an appointment yet, you will have several options beginning June 1.

    • At WCGH, both patients and non-patients, including out-of-state residents, can be vaccinated without an appointment at WCGH Walk-In Care at 118 Northport Ave. in Belfast. Walk-in care is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day of the week.

    • At PBMC, both patients and non-patients, including out-of-state residents, can be vaccinated at The Pharmacy at PBMC, which is located in the main hospital building. Both appointments and walk-ins are welcome. The Pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on weekends and holidays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It can be reached at 301-8585.

All COVID-19 vaccines are offered free of charge.

The COVID-19 vaccination clinics that MaineHealth launched in Belfast and Rockport in early January will accept their last patients on June 10 and June 11, respectively. Both clinics are still accepting appointments and walk-ins. To make an appointment, go to mainehealth.org/vaccine or call 1-877-780-7545.

To date, the COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Belfast and Rockport have administered nearly 20,000 final doses of the vaccine, including more than 10,000 in Belfast and more than 9,000 in Rockland.
