UPDATE: Glenn “Chip” Curry won the Democratic primary race for Senate District 11 via a ranked-choice tabulation.

In the first round of voting, on Election Day, Curry received 44.58 percent of votes, Charles Pattavina received 24.71 percent and Robyn Stanicki received 30.71 percent. 

In the second round of voting, using the ranked choice technique, Curry received 56.75 percent of the votes while Stanicki received 43.26 percent. 

Curry will face Republican Duncan Milne in the November General Election.

Original Story (July 17): The Maine Secretary of State’s Office confirmed via Twitter Friday, July 17 the Democratic primary legislative race for Maine Senate District 11, which serves Waldo County, is requiring tabulation using ranked-choice voting as no candidate received more than 50 percent of the votes during the recent July 14 elections. 

Seeking the Democratic nomination for the seat currently held by outgoing senator Erin Herbig are Charles Pattavina, Glenn Curry and Robyn Stanicki. 

From results reported by towns to the Penobscot Bay Pilot, Curry received 2,099 votes, Stanicki received 1,482 and Pattavina received 1,203. 

The towns of Burnham, Islesboro, Troy and Waldo did not report results for the Senate District 11 race to Penobscot Bay Pilot. 

Presently, State election officials are tabulating the Republican primary race for U.S. House of Representatives District 2. 

The tabulation for the Congressional district race is being done on a technicality of the law as two of the three candidates, Adrienne Bennett and Eric Brakey, in that race ceded the race to front-runner Dale Crafts.
