Saturday procession from Fairfield to Augusta to precede service for fallen MaineDOT employees
AUGUSTA — The Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) will hold a memorial procession from the MaineDOT Fairfield Training Center to the Augusta Civic Center, Saturday, Feb. 28, to honor the memories of fallen MaineDOT employees James Brown and Dwayne Campbell. The procession will include vehicles from MaineDOT, regional partners, and departments of transportation from across and beyond New England.
The procession will depart Fairfield at 12 noon and travel south on I-95. Motorists along the interstate may experience brief impacts, according to MaineDOT, in a news release.
Following the procession, MaineDOT will host a memorial ceremony for James and Dwayne at the Civic Center. The service will begin at 1:15 p.m. Seating will be limited to the venue's capacity of 500 attendees. The Maine State Police Pipe and Drum Corps will perform in remembrance of their fellow public service colleagues.
Attendees are asked to enter through the North Wing.
