Sandra St. Clair, obituary
LIBERTY — Sandra St. Clair, of Liberty, left this earth on July 9, 2025, the same way her life was lived fast and matter of fact with all the people she loved. Born February 24, 1948, she grew up on the family farm in South Liberty and was the second of 8 children.
She met and married her life-long love and husband, David St. Clair; they were married 59 years. They had two children, Puncin and Tammy. She never realized what a whirlwind her life would become, when he dropped that May basket on her doorstep and she ran after him, and their life together began. It was a rare sighting for a lot of years to see one without the other. She worked side by side and deal by deal with him.
David was a wheeler and dealer and for a majority of her life, she loved the adventures and his unpredictability. They traveled up and down the East Coast racing cars and large trucks, it did not matter if there was a seat for her and the kids or not, she made it work. She stood valiantly be his side through all the times, good or bad but after 50 years in the spotlight and adventures, she chose to slow down and smell the flowers, literally. It might have been the second racetrack he purchased, without telling her or maybe it was the hover craft that was the final straw. She stepped back and turned her attention to their six grandkids and their kids, and her countless flower gardens and her lawn, made of the cheapest loam Dave had.
Together they created many business adventures such as Wiscasset Raceway and Dave’s World. Dave was always the forefront of the businesses making the deals and she was always in the shadows, doing the hard work of creating his paper trail. She was quiet and private, however, if you crossed him, you met Sandra.
She had a natural born knack to solve any problem, fix anything that was broken and lived her life frugally. She didn’t waste a dime on nonsense, and she secretly made donations to people and things close to her heart, but never wanted recognition for her efforts.
She taught her children and grandchildren the values of hard work and honesty and to always give a hand up to someone struggling.
She leaves a legacy that could never be written on a piece of paper because her life could have been a reality show, but she hated cameras and photos of herself.
She leaves behind her husband, David St. Clair; her children, Tammy Reynolds (Jerry) and Puncin St. Clair (Kerri); her six grandchildren, Joshua St. Clair (Macy), Jordan Ray (Sam), Cassandra Horton, Ryan St. Clair (Mykenna), Mercedes Reynolds Babin (Jay), Ashton Reynolds (Vanessa); great grandchildren Emmie, Lainey, Braelyn, Addie, Grace, Dexton, Karson, Anson, Max, Finley, Crue and Baby Buster; her steady and constant good wrench through all the bullshit, Fred “Freddy“ Eggen.
She leaves behind her best friend since age 13, Sandra Edgecomb; her forever friends, Stacy Brown and Theresa Dube.
Sunday, July 20, at 4 p.m., there will be a potluck dinner and a lifetime of memories at the Liberty Community Hall, 3 Serenity Lane, Liberty, ME.
