SAD 28, Five Town CSD to hold virtual budget meetings March 22, invite public input

ROCKPORT — The SAD 28 and Five Town CSD school boards will hold virtual budget meetings Monday, March 22 to present the 2021-2022 school budgets to the community and give the public an opportunity to ask questions and provide input before the school boards approve the budgets in April.

The Five Town CSD comprises Camden Hills Regional High School sending towns, including Appleton, Camden, Hope, Lincolnville and Rockport. Camden Rockport Schools comprises Camden and Rockport K-8 schools.

The boards have produced videos of the 2021-22 budget presentations available to view before the meeting. They will also play at the beginning of each meeting. Following the presentation, there will be a question and answer period with the finance chair, the superintendent, and the business manager.

The SAD 28 meeting will take place on Zoom from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the Five Town CSD meeting will take place from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The proposed Camden Rockport Schools budget is currently $17.38 million, which is a 2.93% percent increase to taxpayers over this year’s budget.

The proposed Five Town CSD budget is at $13.64 million, which is a 2.80% percent increase to taxpayers over this year’s budget.
