RSU 13 holding technology device collection June 1

Sat, 05/30/2020 - 9:15am

ROCKLAND — RSU 13 will be holding a technology collection day at the Superintendent's Office (28 Lincoln St in Rockland) June 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All collections will be contactless. Cars will be asked to drive through the back loop of the parking lot to a collection table outside the building. Devices will be displayed on the table for confirmation, before being deposited into a trash bag.

RSU 13 will be collecting all senior class devices at this time.

“Please stop by to return your iPad, charger cord, charger brick, flip cover case/flip cover keyboard, and carry bag,” a news release stated. “Any seniors with hotspots will be required to return those as well. We will then give you the documentation you need for your cap/gown collection.”

Any other family wanting to return their students' ipad for the summer are welcome to use this collection as well. If your child will be participating in Extended School Year Services through special education, please consider keeping the device for the duration of your child's ESY program. An alternative collection day for those devices will be offered in August after the program ends.

Any damaged device that has already been reported, should already have arrangements with your school, but district staff will be available at this time as well to communicate any issues.

Any moving families or departing staff members done with their devices may use this opportunity as well. A formal collection of staff devices will be established after the last teacher day as well.
