UPDATE: Second water main break in Rockland closes Willow Street hours after Broadway closed between Limerock, Rankin streets
ROCKLAND — The city of Rockland dealt with another water main break, this time an early morning break, Thursday, Sept. 17, along Broadway in the area of Summer Street and Talbot Avenue.
Maine Water Company and JBI Construction are on scene and have closed the section of Broadway between Limerock and Rankin streets.
Rockland Fire and Police departments responded to the scene and provided traffic control until repair crews were ready to take over.
At approximately 11:15 a.m., the same day, a caller to Knox Regional Communications Center reported another water main break, this time on Willow Street. City officials responded to the area, confirming the break and closing that street as well. Willow Street is a side street between Broadway and Union Street. The entrance from Broadway is inside the previously closed traffic zone.
