Robert E. Larry, obituary

Robert E. Larry, 67, of Belmont lost his battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis at Brigham's and Women in Boston on March 31, 2021.  He was surrounded by those he loved.

Robert was born on July 13, 1953 in Atkinson, Maine the son of Franklin and Irma (Turner) Larry.

Robert attended school in Belfast and after high school began driving trucks for Penobscot Poultry and continued for many years.  He later drove for EBS Building Supply and lastly for Buxton Service in Monroe before retiring.  In retirement he stayed busy as an ambulance driver for Belfast and as a volunteer for over 20 years for both Belmont and Belfast Fire Departments.

Robert also enjoyed free time deer hunting as well as fishing, camping, and boating with his family.

Many things could be said about this man. He loved his family, friends and will forever be within our hearts. He was a hard worker that would give the shirt off his back to help anyone.

He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Cynthia Cook.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sheila (Murphy) Larry of Belmont; children Lisa Larry-Corson and husband Darren of China, Laurie Paul and partner Toby of Lincolnville; grandchildren Robert Currier and wife Gabrielle, Marisa and Mason Paul all of Belmont, Shiela and Cole Corson of China; great-grandchildren Isabella and Milo Currier; sisters Priscilla Cunningham and husband Brian of Belfast, Audrey Cookson and husband Jerry of Guilford; several nieces nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast immediately followed by a funeral service at 12 noon. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Belmont.
