Richard L. Robbins, obituary
Richard (Dick, Papa) L. Robbins, 85, passed away with his family by his side on January 30, 2026. He was born June 21, 1940, in Belfast to Winifred (Rich) and Jessie James Robbins. He grew up in Belfast and graduated from Crosby High School in 1958.
He met the love of his life, Ann Robillard, at the Stockton Springs Skating Rink and 6 months later, they were married. They lived in Belfast for a short period of time and eventually moved to Stockton Springs, where they started their family.
Richard worked at Camden at the Tannery for many years until he retired. He then served as a park ranger at Fort Knox State Park in Prospect for several years. Richard had several odd jobs, from owning and running a tropical fish store, selling cookware, Amway, and selling Rainbow vacuums. He always provided for his family. At one point, he and Ann packed up their belongings and drove to Kodiak, Alaska to be with their son and to experience the Alaskan wilderness. He loved going up north to camp with the boys, hunting, fishing and going to Florida in the winters.
He is survived by his wife, Ann (Robillard) Robbins; February 6, they would have been married for 67 years. His son Mark Robbins of Searsport; son Allen Robbins and his wife Lesa of Prospect, Allen's children Mike, Daphne, Kari and Haylie, and their families; Danny Robbins and his wife Lisa of Tenants Harbor, Danny's children Rick, Charity and Courtney, their families Cherie and Rob Mercer of Stockton Springs their girls Jessica, Kimberly, Heather and Ava their families; and Kim Robbins Blake, her children Nicholas and Erin and their families, as well as many grandchildren, great grand children and great-great grand children. He is also survived by his brother, William Robbins and his children William Jr. and Michelle and their families.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the American Legion Post 43, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. We want to focus on the light he brought into our lives and to everyone he touched, and the stories that will stay with us forever. We invite everyone to share memories, laughter, and remember a life beautifully lived. We will always love you!!!
A graveside burial will be held in the spring at Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Stockton Springs.
