Richard J. Lavway, obituary

APPLETON — Richard Joe Lavway, 50, of Appleton, died at his home on Thursday, July 4, 2019.  Born in Camden on June 18, 1969, he was the son of John W. and Rosemary (Gould) Lavway.

In recent years, he had worked doing road construction, snowplowing, and maintenance in Appleton, as well as burning blueberry fields and farming.  Previously, he had been a truck driver, and worked for Fisher Engineering in Rockland for many years as a welder and painter.

Richard's hobbies were fishing, camping on Ragged Lake near Ripogenus Dam, and snowmobiling. 

Surviving is his mother, Rosemary Lavway of Appleton; two brothers, John Lavway, Jr. and his wife, Brandy of Searsport, and Michael Lavway and his wife, Kim of Appleton; aunts and uncles, Alan and Carol Gould, David and Brenda Gould, all of Appleton, and Daisy and Jarvis Johnson of Hope; nieces and nephews, Sheldon Lavway, Spencer Lavway, Eric Robinson, Priscilla Robinson and Brandon Robinson. 

He was predeceased by his father, John W. Lavway, Sr. and a brother, Dennis Lavway.

There will be a graveside service Saturday, July 20, at 10 a.m., at Pine Grove Cemetery in Appleton.
