ROCKLAND – Richard E. Ames, 74, died peacefully on Sept. 20, 2016, at Sussman House in Rockport.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, Sept. 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland, where a celebration of his life, with military honors, will be held Friday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Mt. Vernon Road in Augusta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maine Homeless Veterans Alliance, P.O. Box 1895, Portland, ME 04104.
